1. Sign up for your own Google Analytics account. (Individual site analytics aren't managed centrally at UNL, although you may want to first contact your college's/department's web developer or communicator to see if they want to create a property within an existing account that they have.)

2. Add your Web Property ID number that your generate on the GA site to your CMS site at Configuration->Google Analytics.

3. Add your domain name as a custom parameter. This is needed so that Google cookies from your analytics account aren't added to every site on unl.edu.

Under the Dimensions and Metrics tab:

  • Leave Index (UA Only) blank. (Don't worry if the site auto-fills this box with something later.)
  • Choose Dimension for the Parameter Type.
  • Under Name enter cookie_domain.
  • Under Value enter your site's domain name such as mysite.unl.edu
